Résumé
Le français est une langue romane, personne n’en doute. Mais quels sont les traits que le français a hérités du protoroman, et lui confèrent donc ce statut de langue néolatine ? La présente conférence tente de répondre à cette question du point de vue tour à tour phonologique, morphologique, lexical et syntaxique. In fine, elle se pose la question de l’intérêt des études qui considèrent le français devant la toile de fond des langues romanes.
Resumen
In search of Romance features in French. Nobody doubts that French is a Romance language. But what are the features that French inherited from Proto-Romance, which confer it the status of a Neo-Latin language? The present lecture tries to answer this question step by step from the point of view of phonology, morphology, lexicology, and syntax. In the end, it considers the value of studying French using the Romance languages as a backdrop.
